We take the health and safety of our employees and clients seriously. We are taking the following actions in an effort to minimize any risks:
• We are rescheduling all in-person appointments to phone appointments (whenever possible). If you are in the office, we will offer you a sanitized pen for any required signatures or the like.
• If you or a family member has traveled by air in the past 30 days or if you (or anyone you have been in close contact with) has any COVID-19 symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath), please refrain from physically entering our office, until further notice.
• All paperwork that is dropped off or received by mail will be “quarantined” for 4 days after arrival, so please plan accordingly. Digital transfers (e.g., email, Dropbox) are highly preferred.
• If you send email attachments and don’t receive an acknowledgement of receipt, please call our office to make sure the email was received since, for computer security reasons, our email system does not accept extremely large attachments.
• If any of our staff exhibits flu-like symptoms, they will stay home and refrain from entering the office. As such, there might be an immediate and prolonged work interruption, and work may be reallocated through the office. This means your work may take longer than usual to complete, and that you may receive a call or email from an attorney with whom you might not be familiar. We appreciate your understanding in this unusual situation.
• Many courts have postponed all civil and criminal trials and other matters requiring in-court appearances, along with all associated deadlines. Because of this, many of the pre-existing deadlines and events relating to your case will also be postponed. We are in the process of working with individual judges and other relevant parties to reschedule items. We will let you know the new schedule once it has been determined.
We apologize for the inconvenience, but we are trying to protect the health and safety of our clients and employees, as well as to do our part in “flattening the curve.” Please feel free to call us if you have any questions.
